    Description

    PREWAR EARLY LIONEL TYPE A TRANSFORMER (BRASS) - 40 WATTS
    Transformer still works great, good power for a 40 watt.  Both settings were tested.  This is an early type A, it has a post on the control lever and contact points are brass not nickel.  Could be as early as 1921, they made one before that but that one probably had a cast iron base.  Condition overall is good to very good, the base plate is the only part that needs some rust cleaned up.  Brass plate on the side looks good, brass control arm is complete and works as it should (not overly tight).  Has all 3 brass wiring nuts.  Original cloth cord is in very good shape, starting to sound like it has a little dry rot but cloth casing has no frays or repairs.  Good plug too.  Message me with any questions, thanks for looking!
