Postwar Lionel ZW 275 Watt Tranformer w/ OB Serviced & Tested LN w/Instructions

From a large collection we just purchased.  Plenty of power for up to four trains on separate loops of track or two trains and plenty of accessories.  It has the later and faster acting wafer circuit breaker and is identical with the Model R version even though it does not say Model R on the back panel.  The original instruction sheet that came with it from the original owner is dated 1956. The original box is solid and includes the original front and rear inserts.  Grades C-8 Like New by Train Collectors Association grading standards.  My TCA number is 86-23651
All of our transformers have been cleaned inside and out and have had a new AC power cord installed.  Electrical contacts have been cleaned and all outputs tested for proper operation.  Most importantly, we perform an AC safety leakage test using a Sencore AC-57 "Powerite" to make certain that there is no leakage of current from the primary to the secondary which constitutes a life threatening shock hazard.  Most other eBay sellers do not have the proper equipment to perform this important test.
IMPORTANT:  Postwar Lionel transformers were designed to operate the whistles and diesel horns in Postwar Lionel locomotives.  They MAY not trigger the electronic whistles and bells in modern O gauge locomotives.  This is due to the fact that some modern locos require more DC voltage to trigger than these older transformers were designed to produce.  This NOT a defect in the transformer.  Modern loco sound can be controlled with these older transformers by using a modern Sound Activation button available from Lionel parts dealers.
